Our Decoy Training Program is built for individuals who want to learn the art and responsibility of working as a protection decoy. This program teaches the technical skills, safety protocols, and psychological awareness needed to work confidently with both green and advanced protection dogs in real-world and sport settings.

PROGRAM DETAILS

Skills and Concepts Taught:

Participants will learn proper equipment handling (sleeves, suits, whips, wedges), reading canine behavior, working different drives (prey vs. defense), targeting, pressure application, escape techniques, and proper bite presentation. You'll also be trained in handler communication, timing, and how to build and maintain a dog’s confidence and control during engagement. We emphasize safety—for both decoy and dog—while developing your ability to apply pressure, test obedience, and help shape behavior through well-timed interaction.

Training with Real Dogs and Scenarios:

This isn’t just theory—you’ll work hands-on with a variety of dogs at different stages of protection training, from foundational alert work to home invasion simulations. Training includes on-field practice, decoying in different environments, working under distraction, and performing role-specific scenarios like civil agitation and hidden sleeve work.

Real-World Reliability:

Being a good decoy means more than putting on a suit—it means knowing when to push, when to back off, and how to help the dog improve. Our program ensures you can safely and effectively work with real dogs in unpredictable environments, whether you're assisting a trainer, competing in sport, or preparing for real protection deployments.

Akeem Norris, dog trainer, was extremely effective in teaching me how to handle my 8 year old pure bred white Swiss Shepherd, who had no previous training and is not spaded and is very intelligent and protective. She can open any doors and did much damage to my home. Her breed is used as police dogs in Switzerland, It was a long process and realization after issues I encountered with walking her in my neighbourhood, especially after my health problems in 2024 but this training has saved both of us and gave me confidence how to handle a strong and powerful dog, who is very sweet and loves people but shepherds are the most misunderstood dog because of their herding, leading nature and innate intelligence. Akeem thought me how to hold the leash properly and the commands and the prong collar really helps because she is very strong and because of my health issues she can easily overtake me. I wish I took her for training years ago. Thanks to the owners of the school because they are involved in the process behind the scenes to make a success of your training and make you a responsible dog owner.
